GEF
Global Environment Facility
GEF helps developing countries fund projects and programs that protect the global environment. GEF grants support projects related to biodiversity, climate change, international waters, land degradation, the ozone layer, and persistent organic pollutants.

UNDP
National Communications Support Programme
NCSP was established to provide technical support to enhance the capacity of non-Annex I parties to prepare their initial National Communications. It also aims to promote the quality, comprehensiveness, and timeliness of initial National Communications.

WB
World Bank Climate Change
The WB Climate Change Team provides resources and expertise for the WBs participation in international climate change negotiations under the UNFCCC, and provides technical advice to the GEF Program. It is also leading the Bank's efforts related to climate change vulnerability and adaptation issues for its client countries, and coordinates these efforts with the Bank's Disaster Management Facility.

UNEP
CDM Capacity Development Project
Aims to generate in participating developing countries a broad understanding of the opportunities offered by the Clean Development Mechanism, and to develop the necessary institutional and human capabilities that allows them to formulate and implement projects under the CDM.

IFRC
The International Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre
The Climate Centre aims to strengthen Red Cross and Red Crescent relief aid programmes by making better use of scientific data on climate change and extreme weather and by facilitating an exchange of ideas between the worlds of meteorological science and emergency relief.

WHO
Global Change and Health Programme
The programme on global change and health started in 1999 to implement the recommendations of the Third Ministerial Conference on Environment and Health (1999) and to promote healthy global environmental policies. The WHO Global change and health programme is also engaged in research on the assessment of health effects of climate change.

OECD
Development and climate change
Initiated by the Development Co-operation and the Environment Directorates in 2002, this joint project explores possible synergies as well as trade-offs in "mainstreaming" climate change responses in development co-operation projects, development plans and activities. The focus is on links between climate change, natural resource management and economic development plans in developing countries.

WWF
WWF Climate Change Programme
WWF is seeking solutions in developing countries to reduce greenhouse gases while pursuing local development, pressing countries to develop national impacts management plans to attempt to prevent climate change from damaging wildlife-rich areas, looking to reduce global warming through renewable energies; and helping communities adapt to a changing climate.

Development and Climate Project
DCP is an initiative of 12 institutes from developing and developed countries. It explores the idea that a less polarised way of meeting the challenges of sustainable development and climate change is to build environmental and climate policy upon development priorities that are vitally important to developing countries.

AIACC
Assessments of Impacts and Adaptations to Climate Change
AIACC is a global initiative developed in collaboration with the UNEP/WMO Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and funded by the Global Environment Facility to advance scientific understanding of climate change vulnerabilities and adaptation options in developing countries.

IUCN
World Conservation Union Climate Change Initiative
The IUCN Climate Change Initiative assists countries to successfully mitigate and adapt to climate change in a manner that is environmentally sound and socially equitable. The organization leverages our knowledge and experience in natural resource management to tackle climate change.

IISD
International Institute for Sustainable Development
IISD's Climate Change and Energy team seeks to provide creative responses to climate change based on solid research, shared knowledge and the engagement of people at all levels are required.

CDM Watch
Clean Development Mechanism Watch
CDM Watch is a non-profit organisation that seeks to monitor CDM projects and provide a clearinghouse for information on CDM projects and CDM related issues and developments.

CSE
New Delhi Centre for Science and Environment
CSE is an India-based environmental NGO that campaigns for equal rights as the basis for climate negotiations, which will form a model for sharing common property resources in future.

IPCC
Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
IPCC has been established by WMO and UNEP to assess scientific, technical and socio- economic information relevant for the understanding of climate change, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation. It is open to all Members of the UN and of WMO.

IIED
International Institute for Environment and Development
IIED is an independent, non-profit organization promoting sustainable patterns of world development through collaborative research, policy studies, networking and knowledge dissemination. We work to address global issues, for example; mining, the paper industry and food systems.

IVM
Institute for Environmental Studies
Its purpose is to contribute to sustainable development and the rehabilitation and preservation of the environment through academic research and education . IVM addresses challenging environmental problems and offers both pragmatic and innovative solutions.

Harvard
The Center for Health and the Global Environment
founded in 1996 at Harvard Medical School to expand environmental education at medical schools and to further investigate and promote awareness of the human health consequences of global environmental change.

SEI
Stockholm Environment Institute
SEI is an independent, international research institute specializing in sustainable development and environment issues. It works at local, national, regional and global policy levels. The SEI research programmes aim to clarify the requirements, strategies and policies for a transition to sustainability. These goals are linked to the principles advocated in Agenda 21 and the Conventions such as Climate Change, Ozone Layer Protection and Biological Diversity.

Climate Change and Biosphere Research Centre
CCB Wageningen-UR is the formalisation of a long-time collaboration between Wageningen University (WU) and Wageningen DLO institutes in the field of biospheric aspects of climate change.

IRI
International Research Institute for Climate Prediction
The mission of the IRI is to enhance society's capability to understand, anticipate and manage the impacts of seasonal climate fluctuations, in order to improve human welfare and the environment, especially in developing countries. This mission is to be conducted through strategic and applied research, education and capacity building, and provision of forecast and information products, with an emphasis on practical and verifiable utility and partnerships.

Tyndall Centre
The Tyndall Centre brings together scientists, economists, engineers and social scientists, who together are working to develop sustainable responses to climate change through trans-disciplinary research and dialogue on both a national and international level.

Climate Technology Initiative
The CTI was launched at COP1 to promote the objectives of the UNFCCC by fostering international co-operation for accelerated development and diffusion of climate-friendly technologies and practices for all activities and greenhouse gases.

World Climate Programme
WCP is an authoritative international scientific programme whose goals are to improve understanding of the climate system and to apply that understanding for the benefit of societies coping with climate variability and change. 

WCRP
World Climate Research Programme
The objectives of the programme are to develop the fundamental scientific understanding of the physical climate system and climate processes needed to determine to what extent climate can be predicted and the extent of human influence on climate.

WCDMP
World Climate Data and Monitoring Programme
WCDMP aims to promote the development of a comprehensive and dedicated climate observing system and climate data management systems, and to ensure that high quality climate data from existing observations of the global climate system are readily available to members of the World Meteorological Organization (UN)

GWIC
Global Warming International Center
The Global Warming International Center (GWIC) is the international body disseminating information on global warming science and policy, serving both governamental, non-governamental organizations, and industries in more than 145 countries. Climate Change Knowledge Network
CCKN brings together expertise, experience and perspectives from more than a dozen organizations from developing, transitional and developed countries. CCKN aims to help address gaps in resources, knowledge and capacity and dialogue by facilitating focused research and capacity building in developing and developed countries, with sustainable development as the overall goal.

ProVention
The ProVention Consortium
The ProVention Consortium is a global coalition of governments, international organizations, academic institutions, the private sector and civil society organizations dedicated to help developing countries build sustainable and successful economies and to reduce the human suffering that results from natural and technological catastrophes.

CAN
Climate Action Network
CAN is a global network of over 287 Non- Governmental Organizations (NGOs) working to promote government and individual action to limit human-induced climate change to ecologically sustainable levels. CAN members work to achieve this goal through the coordination of information exchange and NGO strategy on international, regional and national climate issues.
